What does it mean to “make sense” as an INTP?
I recently made a video and spoke about Ti validation, which essentially means confirming that the thought process we’re having makes sense.
But what is “making sense?”
Let’s go down a conspiracy rabbit hole, shall we?…
When I think of “sense” I think of sensations. We all experience them such as sound, sight, touch, taste, balance, time, etc.
Extraverted Sensors (Se) tend to have more immediate access to sense. It’s the most obvious example of something we all experience some degree of.
Even if Extraverted Sensing is very low or even your 8th cognitive function, you still experience the wind on your skin even if you don’t experience it in real-time and in a way that a Se person does.
All functions, including Introverted Thinking (Ti), operate the same way. They all exist within us.
So with Ti being something we all possess to some degree, we all have some version of “making sense” or making/construction of how our own logical reality does or should work.
Making sense is something that we all feel like we do or aspire to do. Every thought we have makes sense to each of us until it doesn’t.
For Ti, “making sense” just happens to be a more complex game/construction which requires more validation that I’m not too far gone…
The Matrix shows a meta world within “the real world” and at its most successful, the franchise made you confused about what is real and what isn’t.
It gave a glimpse into what it’s like to construct your own reality, experience what *is,* and confuse the two.
The newest Matrix movie started to touch on people being happy in The Matrix, happy with our logical housing because we each do a version of confusing our logical deductions, reasonings, and constructs to feel safe, seen, needed, valued, etc. with seeing things as they are.
We deduce reality to meet our needs. We make our own realities. We make our own sense.
When you’re able to connect this *making* of sense with what *IS* sense then we can unlock a whole new world of creativity to reconnect ourselves to the effortless flow of existence.
